A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Inpatient Rehabilitation is a healthcare professional who evaluates and treats patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders resulting from conditions such as stroke, brain injury, or neurological disease. They develop and implement individualized therapy plans to improve communication, cognitive functioning, and safe swallowing, while working closely with an interdisciplinary team of therapists, nurses, and physicians. SLPs in inpatient rehab also educate patients and families on techniques to support recovery, playing a vital role in helping individuals regain independence and quality of life during intensive rehabilitation.
