A Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room Circulator is a licensed perioperative nursing professional who manages and coordinates patient care within the operating room. OR Circulator RNs are responsible for patient advocacy, ensuring correct patient identification, surgical site verification, and adherence to safety and sterile protocols. They prepare the operating suite, position patients, obtain needed supplies, and communicate with the surgical team throughout procedures. The circulator monitors patient status, documents care, and responds to the needs of surgeons, anesthesia providers, and scrub staff. With strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail, OR Circulator Registered Nurses play a central role in maintaining efficiency, safety, and high-quality surgical care.
