An Operating Room Technician (OR Tech), also known as a Surgical Technologist, is a skilled healthcare professional who assists surgeons during operative procedures. OR Techs prepare and maintain sterile fields, organize surgical instruments, and ensure equipment is functioning properly. They anticipate the needs of the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and supplies efficiently throughout the operation. OR Techs are responsible for infection control, surgical counts, and maintaining patient safety in the operating room. Working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses, OR Technicians demonstrate precision, focus, and teamwork to ensure successful surgical outcomes.
