A Speech-Language Pathologis is a licensed clinician who evaluates and treats individuals with speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Working with patients of all ages, they develop personalized therapy plans to address challenges resulting from conditions such as stroke, brain injury, developmental delays, or neurological disorders. In an outpatient environment, SLPs focus on improving functional communication and quality of life through scheduled therapy sessions, progress monitoring, and collaboration with families and other healthcare professionals. They often hold a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and are certified by ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association).
