An Occupational Therapist (OT) in Home Health is a licensed healthcare professional who provides therapy services to patients in their homes to help them regain or maintain independence in daily activities. They assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and environmental needs, and develop personalized treatment plans focused on improving mobility, self-care, and functional skills. OTs in home health also evaluate home environments, recommend modifications, and train patients and caregivers on safe practices and use of assistive devices. Working independently while coordinating with broader care teams, they play a key role in supporting recovery, preventing re-hospitalization, and improving overall quality of life.
