A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Pediatrics is a licensed rehabilitation professional who specializes in the assessment and treatment of communication and feeding disorders in infants, children, and adolescents. Pediatric SLPs evaluate speech, language, social communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing skills to identify developmental delays or disorders. They create individualized, play-based therapy plans and collaborate closely with families, educators, and interdisciplinary care teams to support progress across home, school, and community settings. Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologists also provide caregiver education and strategies to encourage communication development. With patience, creativity, and clinical expertise, they help children build essential communication skills and improve quality of life.
