A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) in a Medical-Surgical unit is a vital frontline healthcare professional who provides direct, hands-on care to hospitalized patients with a wide range of medical conditions. CNAs/PCTs assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and toileting while promoting comfort, dignity, and safety. They monitor vital signs, observe changes in patient condition, and promptly report concerns to nurses and the care team. Working closely with registered nurses, physicians, and therapists, Med-Surg CNAs/PCTs support treatments, prepare patients for procedures, and help maintain a clean, organized care environment.
