A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is a licensed healthcare professional who specializes in the assessment and treatment of patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions. RRTs evaluate breathing status, manage oxygen therapy, administer aerosolized medications, and operate advanced life-support equipment such as ventilators and noninvasive ventilation devices. They respond to emergencies, assist with intubations, and provide critical care support across inpatient units including ICU, ER, and neonatal settings.
